Remind yourself about why you decided to start this journey, and post your "why" around the house, specifically in the kitchen or places where you find yourself having these cravings the most. Some examples of your "why" could be:
Reduce my medication(s)
To be able to climb a flight of stairs and not be out of breath.
To watch my (grand)children grow up and be able to play and keep up with them.
Never be Bored! Boredom can often lead you to mindless eating, so don't allow it!
Start a puzzle
Play board games or video games
Practice mindfulness: Meditate, journal, or go shopping, focus and breathe.
Reach out to friends, new or old, and have a conversation.
Read a book or an article, or maybe even write a book, article, or blog!
Learn something new, a new language, knitting, dancing, yoga, etc...
Paint!
If possible, our weight loss center recommends avoiding having non-Phase 1 foods in the house.
Clean your house, wash windows, organize drawers and closets.
Drink something hot - it's comforting.

When going on the Ideal protocol you should expect to lose the most amount of weight your first 2-3 weeks on the protocol as your body is adjusting. Those first two to three weeks expect to lose 4-10lbs. As your body adjusts you will slow down and adapts to the program males tend to lose 4-5 pounds per week and women lose 2-3 pounds per week on average.
Everyone is different so results vary from person to person and higher weight loss results may only be achieved if the protocol is properly followed.
Yes, our protocol is amazing for people with high blood pressure and are often overweight, you will definitely benefit from the protocol. Although salt intake should still be taken into account & will have to be mindful, as prescribed by their physician.
Yes, the Ideal Protein protocol is safe for gastric bypass / lapband patients... For losing weight and providing a great source of protein in a very small volume of food / calories, Laplanders will do well with our protocol.
There is no problem with going on the protocol if you have had a history of Gout and/or Kidney Stones. High uric acid levels are a part of metabolic syndrome and the Ideal Protein protocol will be able to help these conditions long term. As stated in the Explanation of the Health Profile if a patient has a history of gout, doctors should (MD or DO) put them on a drug (like Allopurinol 300 mgs) for at least the first month of the program. Ideal Protein has only 2 recorded cases in two and a half years that going on the diet may have precipitated a gout flare-up. Therefore if the docs employ this strategy. It may prevent a dieter from quitting the program, because of a perceived negative effect before he or she can get the full benefit of our protocol. Allopurinol is very inexpensive and is very well tolerated and has a long history of safety and good results. What may have happened with the 2 noted cases, they were going to have a flare-up anyway (perhaps increasing protein in the diet suddenly, may have aggravated it, or maybe not). In any a case, using Allopurinol as a pre-emptive measure would be ideal, but you should still talk to your Doctor before going on our protocol.
We accept FSA and HSA cards.
